First Japan Tour, March 1972

In late March 1972, the Bee Gees toured Japan for the first time. They played to a capacity audience for four consecutive nights: March 23 (Shibuya Kokaido Hall), 24 (Budokan), and  25-26 (Osaka Festival Hall). A number of singles and EPs that featured photographs from this first tour were released during the following months that led up to the second tour in September 1973.

Sunday, May 29, 2011, Robin Gibb played at Sala Kongresowa in Warsaw, Poland. It was the first full concert since his Brazilian dates were cancelled due to illness.

"TRIBUTE TO THE BEE GEES 2011: Relief Concert in Tokyo ‐
ROJITAS with SPICKS & SPECKS" is a tribute-turned-relief project, which started out as the celebration of the Bee Gees' music by two artists from different countries and very different backgrounds: Rojitas, a Cuban singer-songwriter, and Spicks & Specks, one of Japan's oldest Bee Gees tribute bands.

The original tribute project started to take shape when Rojitas contacted Spicks & Specks after reading our article about their Tokyo appearance at the end of 2009.

When they met, there was an instant connection. Despite the cultural and linguistical differences, they realized that they could communicate in the universal language: the music of the Bee Gees. A joint tribute plan throve on this newfound international friendship.

Today May 14th, the Shonan-based Bee Gees tribute band Bay Cees will play at Zushi Community Park in an event called "Otona no kyujitsu (Holiday For Grownups)," giving fans of good music the opportunity to hear those unforgettable Bee Gees' tunes live. If you live anywhere near the area, please make  sure to be there!
