As reported earlier, to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the release of the film "Saturday Night Fever" in Japan, Universal Music Japan brought out three Bee Gees-related released on July 11.

In the picture on the right, clockwork from top right: Special limited edition of "Saturday Night Fever" OST CD with a blu-ray disc of the movie, with the yellow obi-strip reproduced from the 1970s release; "Saturday Night Fever" OST CD; and the Japanese edition of "The Very Best of Andy Gibb."

The two versions of "Fever" OST reproduce in the CD size the original paper jackets from the early (not the earliest) U.S. LP.

USM designates July 22, the day when the movie was released in Japan 40 years ago, as the National Disco Day, and is offering the limited edition "Saturday Night Fever" box set released in the U.S. late last year with a special Fever sticker at a discount price.  The supply is limited.  So grab your copy while there is still a chance... Well, that's the message anyway.  However, while special discount price sounds quite nice, we do wonder if anyone is seriously tempted to buy the box set for that sticker alone, which does not even include a photo of the Bee Gees!!)

The booklet of lyrics and liner notes include new versions of translated lyrics and translations of the essays written by Barry Gibb, director John Badham, and Bill Oakes.
